Beer Keg Filling Lines

Neal H. Knapp, LLC Beer Keg washing and filling systems come in single head or double head washers and fillers.   We have an automated conveying system that orients the beer keg neck up or neck down depending on the requirements of the washer and filler.

In the automated system, the beer kegs are placed on a conveyor with the neck down by hand.  This conveyor transports the beer keg to the keg washer where it is emptied, washed with hot caustic soda solution, rinsed, washed with hot acid solution, re-rinsed and pressurized with CO2 and it is then deposited onto a conveyor that takes the beer keg to the keg orienter.  The keg orienter turns the beer keg neck up so it will line up with the filler nozzles.  The beer keg is then transported on the filler infeed conveyor to the filler where it is filled under pressure and placed on a conveyor for hand palletizing.

If you choose the manual system, the operator places the beer kegs directly on the washer neck down.  After the beer keg has been emptied, washed with hot a caustic solution, rinsed, washed with hot acid solution, rinsed again and pressurized with CO2, the operator moves the beer keg to the filler and places it under the valve(s) where it is filled under pressure.  The operator then removes the beer keg from the filler and hand palletizes it.
